Honda Click 125cc: The Bangkok Standard
The most popular rental scooter in Thailand for a reason. It’s what Bangkok locals ride. Light enough to squeeze through traffic gaps. Fuel-efficient (you’ll spend maybe 60-80 THB on fuel every 2-3 days of city riding). Under-seat storage fits a small backpack, which covers most of what you need for a day out.At 320 THB/day from RentLab, the Honda Click 125cc is the sweet spot between price and capability. You get a bike that handles everything from Sukhumvit traffic to a weekend ride within Bangkok to spots like Bang Krachao or Pak Kret floating market without complaining. The downside is passenger comfort. Two riders on a Click works, but it isn’t comfortable for more than 20 minutes. The seat is narrow, the engine is adequate rather than strong, and you’ll feel every speed bump together. If you’re traveling as a couple doing anything beyond a short hop to dinner, consider upgrading to the NMAX.Yamaha Aerox 155cc: The Sporty Pick
The Aerox is what you rent when you want a Click with more power. The jump from 125cc to 155cc is noticeable immediately. On-ramps, hills, and merging into fast-moving traffic all feel easier. The bike responds when you twist the throttle instead of making you wait for it.ABS brakes are the biggest upgrade from the Click. They prevent wheel lockup in wet conditions, which matters a lot here. Bangkok gets very wet from May to October, and riding on rain-slicked roads with non-ABS brakes requires more skill and more caution. The Aerox takes that variable off the table. Read more in our safe riding guide for Bangkok if you’re new to wet-weather scooter riding. At 350 THB/day, the Aerox costs 120 THB more than the Click per day. On a 7-day rental, that’s 840 THB extra. Whether that’s worth it depends entirely on your riding. Solo rider doing city trips and short distances? The Click is fine. Riding with a passenger or covering long Bangkok city days? The Aerox earns its price without question. Note: like all current RentLab bikes, the Aerox is restricted to Bangkok metropolitan area only.Yamaha NMAX 155cc: The Comfort King
The NMAX is the premium option for everyday Bangkok riding. It runs the same 155cc ABS engine as the Aerox, but everything around that engine is built for comfort. The seat is wider, the suspension absorbs bumps better, and the riding position is more upright. Two people can ride the NMAX for hours without serious complaints, which is rare in this class. It’s the most popular choice among digital nomads renting monthly because the daily commute is genuinely comfortable rather than merely tolerable. You don’t arrive at your coworking space feeling beaten up from the traffic. At 500 THB/day, it’s the priciest 155cc option in the fleet. The tradeoff is size. The NMAX is the widest and heaviest scooter in the mid-range, and parking in tight Sukhumvit sois requires more maneuvering than you’d need with a Click or Aerox. If most of your parking is on main roads or in designated motorcycle bays, that’s not an issue. If you’re squeezing into narrow lanes frequently, factor that in.Budget Picks: Fino and Zoomer X
If you’re watching every baht, the Yamaha Fino at 200 THB/day or the Honda Zoomer X at 190 THB/day are your options. Both are light, simple, and well-suited for short city trips. You won’t feel underpowered in traffic because Bangkok traffic rarely moves fast enough to need more than 115cc.The Fino is the lighter of the two, which makes it slightly easier to manage in tight spots. The Zoomer X has a distinctive retro look and rides lower to the ground, which some riders prefer. Neither bike has ABS, and neither is built for two people on anything beyond a quick trip to 7-Eleven. But for a solo rider doing temple runs, market visits, and neighborhood exploration, they do the job at the lowest cost available. For Serious Riders: GPX GR200R and Honda Forza 300cc
The GPX GR200R is the only manual-gearbox bike in the RentLab fleet. If you ride manual at home and want that experience in Bangkok, this is your only option. The 200cc engine gives you real power, the styling is aggressive and modern, and it stands out from every other scooter on the road. At 700 THB/day, it’s a niche pick, but the right pick if manual transmission is what you know. The Honda Forza 300cc is the largest scooter in the fleet. It is the most comfortable bike for long Bangkok city riding days and two-up riding within the metropolitan area. All current RentLab bikes including the Forza are restricted to Bangkok area only. For trips to Pattaya, Kanchanaburi, or Hua Hin, a touring fleet starting with the Honda Rebel 300cc and similar affordable touring bikes launches this year. Also 700 THB/day. Both of these are for experienced riders who know what they want and have a specific reason for choosing them over the mid-range options. How to Decide in 30 Seconds
